Painting
Since being based in Cornwall I’ve combined delivering community arts projects with developing my own
art practice and now work extensively as a landscape painter.
My paintings are a response to the landscape that surrounds me and the drama, magic and power that
it evokes. I use paint to attempt to communicate more than what I see - to articulate my emotional and
spiritual response to what moves me in the natural world, what quickens my pulse and takes my breath
away. |

Workshops
My workshops are community and educationally based and involve working with textiles exploring traditional
and new technology. I run collaborative art projects that combine active participation with producing
impressive outcomes often in the form of large fabric banners and flags for public display.
I set up the London based arts organisation Cloth of Gold and ran more than 500 residencies in schools
across London and nationally at primary and secondary level before moving to Cornwall and delivering
projects across the South West.
I collaborate across many different art forms working creatively with writers, story tellers, photographers,
performers, musicians, DJ’s, scientists, fashions designers, writers and poets.
Partners on projects have included Tate Galleries (St Ives, Britain and Modern), MOMA – Oxford, The BBC,
The British and Horniman Museum, The Stephen Lawrence Trust, St Paul’s, Exeter and Truro Cathedrals,
The Barbican and South Bank Centre.

Music
I’ve played double bass and sung with a wide range of unlikely musicans all over Europe. Since 2004 my main musical job is rockin’ out with Cahooty -
Cornwall's busiest and best hillbilly dance band.
